Worth Having, Worth Doing
I live for
the squished banana in my slipper
And the
pumpkin beet humus stain on my white shirt
I live for
little hands slapping
Hysterical
headbutts
And high F’s
over C bursting my eardrum
I would
die for the pots and pans
strewn across
my kitchen floor
for the
millionth time
And finding
my toothbrush in the toilet
The hugs
and kisses and smiles and laughter
Make my
heart feel like there’s no more room
But the
banana in my slipper keeps me alive
